This position is accountable both to the Administrative Director and Head of the Meridian Campus for meeting desired campus strategic initiatives as well as the Director of Admissions and Scholarships for matters of institutional policy and procedural compliance. As such, the Coordinator leads a team in reaching desired enrollment and student success goals through coordination of essential admissions, financial aid, registrar, student accounts, learning resource, disability, and veterans' services. Additionally, the coordinator serves as a liaison between the Starkville and Meridian Campuses in providing excellent service to students and ensuring regulatory compliance in areas of supervision.
1. Manages and directs various functional areas within Student Services to develop a high performing team, while ensuring these areas have collaborative relationships with their colleagues on the Starkville Campus. 2. Collaborates with the Coordinator of Advisement and Transfer partnerships in developing annual operational plans to meet established enrollment goals for the Meridian Campus. 3. Coordinates communication and collaboration among service units within the office to promote efficiency in work and increased enrollment funnel yield rates. 4. Establishes and maintains a learning resource center on the Meridian Campus through close collaboration with Division Heads in securing faculty support for academic enrichment and tutoring as well as identifying and employing student tutors. 5. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation regulations as they pertain to student services provided on the Meridian Campus. 6. Collaborates with the Admission Assistants to process incoming applications for admission to the university. This includes using the Banner Student System, Banner Workflow Online, ApplicationXtender Web Access and Slate CRM system to determine admission eligibility by evaluating applications and transcripts (including calculating grade point averages), evaluating and verifying courses on varied transcript formats to determine admission eligibility, determining the accreditation status of colleges, etc. and disbursing related information to academic departments and other university officials. 7. Collaborates with Student Account Services to assist students with their student account. 8. Collaborates with Student Account Services to assist with sponsor payments. 9. Collaborates with the Registrar's Office to perform major changes, withdrawals, add/drop/audit and readmissions. 10. Manages an office budget and expenses. 11. Works closely with peers on area community college campuses to promote the Partnership Pathway initiative. 12. Demonstrates initiative in identifying needed areas of improvement and inefficiency and develops innovative solutions to improve student services. 13. Supervises the campus switchboard and personnel in fielding calls and welcoming guests to campus as well as ensuring those guests are directed appropriately. 14. Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director and Head of Campus or Director of Admissions and Scholarships.
* Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years' experience in a student services area. * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills * Familiarity with basic Microsoft Word applications
* Master's degree in Student Affairs or a closely related field * Experience leading a student affairs or enrollment management unit * Demonstrated success in leading a team to reach desired enrollment goals
