Responsible for keeping abreast of all rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to the collection of Federal Perkins loan funds and other institutional loan funds.
Responsible for the day to day management of the Federal Perkins loan and other institutional loan portfolios as it relates to borrower contact, working with the outside loan servicing company, analysis of current and future funding levels.
Works directly with outside collection agencies to ensure proper management of delinquent loan accounts.
Responsible for the accounting and posting of transactions in all loan funds to the University's general ledger.
Responsible for the appropriate reconciliation of all loan fund balances maintained by the University's general ledger.
Responsible for processing commissions payments due to outside collection agencies.
Responsible for completing the Perkins sections of the Fiscal Operating Report and Application to participate (FISAP) financial statements.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3-5 years plus the education listed above
Masters Degree and additional years of financial aid experience beyond the minimum
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to effectively communicate with students and staff members with a high degree of professionalism 2. Ability to understand and apply financial aid criteria 3. Strong attention to detail and understand the importance of confidentiality 4. Experience working with individuals from diverse cultures, languages, and ethnic backgrounds.
