The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. The Chief Financial Officer oversees the financial, investment, and information technology functions of the Museum. (S)he also supervises the Director of Operations who oversees the human resources, security, facility, private events, and retail needs of the Museum. Below is a list of essential job functions. Board of Trustees:
Take the lead on providing materials for and reporting to the Finance Committee and Audit Committee, and the Mississippi Museum of Art Foundation Board
Oversee all accounting functions of Museum, ensuring that operations are in compliance with board approved policies and all applicable regulations and guidance
Incorporate the accounting and finance functions within the Museum’s strategic plan
Develop and update all accounting procedures
Develop and manage all accounting systems to meet the needs of the Museum
Enhance and manage all accounting processes that involve non-finance department personnel including timesheet, expense management, purchasing, etc.
Manage the relationship with the Museum’s independent financial auditors
Manage the relationship with the Museum’s other accounting vendors
Develop the Museum’s annual organizational budget in close collaboration with the Director and the budget managers for presentation to and approval by the Board of Trustees
Develop and manage internal and external financial reporting to meet the needs of budget managers, the Board of Trustees, and funders and investors
Develop and manage the Museum’s information technology systems
Incorporate the information technology functions within the Museum’s strategic plan
Develop and update all information technology procedures
Develop and manage all information technology systems to meet the needs of the Museum
Manage the relationship with the Museum’s information technology vendors
Develop the information technology budget and planning based on the needs of the Museum
Enhance and manage the Museum’s cybersecurity
Work with and develop the Director of Operations to oversee the human resources function, the facilities management, and the security, retail store and private events teams
All other duties as assigned
