The Operations Internal Auditor examines, documents, and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of SFB's system of internal control; reviews and analyzes transaction processes, documents, records, and reports; and documents and evaluates information on audit workpapers. The Operational Internal Auditor also designs and executes tests for compliance with applicable company policies and procedures and prepares recommendations to management via memorandums and audit reports. The Operational Internal Auditor receives minimal input from the Operations Internal Audit Supervisor in developing and performing audit procedures which are responsive to the appropriate level of risk and which meet the needs of management.
The Operations Internal Auditor II receives guidance from either the Senior Operations Internal Auditor or the Operations Internal Auditing Supervisor in developing and performing audit procedures which are responsive to the appropriate level of risk and which meets the needs of management.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business
Attainment of the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Designation
Working toward other audit/accounting designations (CPA, CFE, CFSA, CISA, etc.)
Minimum of 3 years prior audit/accounting experience
Proficiency in accounting principles and techniques
Understanding of management principles in order to recognize and evaluate the materiality and significance of deviations from good business practice
Proficiency in applying internal auditing standards, procedures and techniques (the ability to apply knowledge to typical audit situations and to deal with such situations without consulting with the Operations Internal Audit Supervisor or technical reference material)
Broad knowledge of company policies and procedures preferred
Proficiency using current PC software (ex: Word, Excel)
Proficiency using audit software Audit Leverage
Strong analytical skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Advanced interpersonal skills
