From the Apollo missions to exploring Pluto, we have a long history of accomplishments. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Must be willing work swing shift. (Note: This position may require possible shift rotation every other month to swing shift.)
In this role, you will utilize your knowledge of quality requirements, quality management systems, product conformity, configuration management principles, material review board process and assembly/test processes to validate product acceptance as it relates to Rocket Engine Assembly and Hot-Fire Testing Operations. Typical duties:
Review, approve and release work instructions/procedures. Understand and interpret required engineering drawings, specifications and technical manuals. Verify compliance with applicable drawings, specifications, procedures, and government requirements.
Provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Perform corrective/preventive action and root cause analyses to reduce or eliminate nonconformances.
Analyze and compile performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality.
Develop processes and systems that ensure the quality, reliability and system safety of company procured products and services. Analyze contractual and specification requirements for the development or modification of methods, procedure, and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained. Perform process audits.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 5 years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.
Must have the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical manuals.
Must be familiar with MS Office software and web-based database applications.
Must work well independently, as well as in a team environment.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and demonstrate good attention to detail during performance of roles and responsibilities. Excellent problem solving and customer relationship skills are expected.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%.
Must be willing to work all shifts and weekends.
