Friends of Children’s Hospital is looking for a process-minded individual to coordinate financial and administrative support for a broad range of fundraising projects and special events which further the mission of the non-profit. This position will execute bookkeeping and accounting functions with responsibility for preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports and processes necessary to ensure the smooth and compliant financial operation of the organization, focusing on accuracy and transparency. This is a part-time position without benefits estimated at 15-20 hours per week at the Friends office in Flowood. Potential for growth and partial work from home. As a small organization operating in a dynamic and fast-paced growing environment, flexibility and teamwork are required. Employees work collaboratively with an “all hands on deck” approach to ensure organizational success. Responsibilities: assist the Board with budgetary functions, annual audit, and tax returns; perform accounting operations and banking functions of the organization--operations range from accounts payable and receivable, researching and providing background financial data, generating various reports and general bookkeeping and filing; provide assistance for staff and board with financial needs; assist with contract coordination; review and maintain all vendor contracts; assist in analyzing technology infrastructure with the goal of ensuring the organization is utilizing resources within budget; assist with gift process including acknowledgements and Raiser’s Edge management; and assist with board meeting arrangements, special event fundraising and special projects when needed.
A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination is required for the successful candidate. Proficient using Microsoft Office and QuickBooks. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferable. Broad experience with the full range of business functions and systems, including budgeting, bookkeeping, business analysis, finance and information systems.
Additional Salary Information: This is an hourly, part-time position. Salary is negotiable and will be based on education level and experience.
